Who is Jesus Street?
Jesus Street is a Christian ministry sharing the good news on the streets through poetry, music and preaching. Their aim is to make the message accessible to all who are hungry and thirsty. They provide clothing vouchers and showers where possible as well as pray for the sick.
The team help the homeless community who are in need of shelter by either signposting them to the relevant housing providers or by placing them temporarily in B&Bs.
Jesus Street's future vision is to set up a prison ministry where the team can support prisoners through visits and being there for them upon release. The ministry is based in London, England.
What were the challenges they faced?
Since Jesus Street was a new ministry, they didn't have a way to get the word out about who they were or what they did. The founder had the vision of reaching young people with the Christian message through social media, publishing a children's book and reaching Christians interested in joining the team.
